RISE Together
For communities around the world, facing hunger affects their livelihood.
Hope thrives alongside nutrition.
Did you know that almost half of all childhood deaths worldwide occur in children with malnutrition.
Learning increases with stability.
Without the right nutrients, the brain cannot develop properly, resulting in long term effects on learning abilities.
Self-sufficiency leads to growth.
About 673 million people around the world are facing hunger.
This is why we partner with RISE Against Hunger every year in addition to our own local efforts through Grains of Hope and our Food Pantry. This is why we put our faith into action!
In the heart of our faith community lies the power to make a local and a global impact right from where you are. With ministries like Grains of Hope and Rise Against Hunger, we have the chance to bring people together for a meaningful, hands-on service project that transcends borders, ages, or organizational affiliation. As our world evolves, the unwavering spirit of service within our faith community shines brighter than ever. This reminds us of our shared mission to uplift and support one another. For a taste of God's kingdom here on earth, watch the video below and be inspired to keep spreading hope.
Reflect on the Word: Romans 15:13
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
- When have you been spiritually or physically hungry? How did you hold on to hope during these circumstances?
- Where have you recently witnessed hope take on a physical form—through a packed meal, a bag of groceries, or a neighbor showing up—and how does that shape the way you understand God’s promise to “fill us with hope” (Romans 15:13)?
- When we pack meals with Rise Against Hunger or offer choice and dignity through our food pantry, what future are we imagining for our community—and how might God be inviting us to participate in that hope more boldly?
- How does feeding others—locally and globally—reshape your understanding of Christian hope as something not just believed, but practiced, shared, and multiplied?
Take a Moment to Pray
God of hope,
fill us once more with the joy and peace that come from trusting you.
Where our spirits feel thin, breathe your strength.
Where our vision feels small, widen our imagination.
Where our hearts feel weary, steady us with your presence.
Let your Holy Spirit make us people who abound in hope—
hope that feeds the hungry,
hope that lifts the discouraged,
hope that believes your future is already breaking in among us.
Send us out as bearers of that hope,
for the sake of Christ and the world he loves.
Amen.
