Joy Breaks Through
When the flames of adversity claw at my heel,
When uncertainty rises like floodwaters ‘round me,
The one who has called me by name, like a shield
Will protect me, by grace with a love that surrounds me.
Joy breaks through
the darkest night,
Like a newborn
baby’s cry
Precious, honored
in His sight
Joy breaks through the night.
When we’re wandering, lost, and in need of a sign
When we’re cornered, imperiled, conflicted, or torn
He reminds us again of his claim: “You are mine!”;
revealing anew in one glorious morn:
Joy breaks through
the darkest night,
Like a newborn
baby’s cry precious, honored in His sight
Joy breaks through the night.
Joy breaks through
the darkest night,
Like a newborn
baby’s cry precious, honored in His sight
Joy breaks through the night.
Joy breaks through the night.
Reflect on the Word
Here, the prophet paints a vision of hope where the barren wilderness blossoms, the weak are strengthened, and God’s joy breaks through as the redeemed journey on a holy highway into everlasting gladness.
Isaiah 35:1 - 10 (CEV)
Take a Moment to Pray
Gracious God, in this season of waiting, let Your joy break through our weariness. Strengthen our trembling hands, steady our anxious hearts, and guide us on Your holy way. May the promise of Your coming fill us with hope, peace, and gladness, until we see Your glory revealed in full. Amen.
